Where We Are

Our Ministries

The Plan for Ministry 2007-2012 gives direction to our ministry in the Province. The Plan has been developed in response to the commitments made at the Congregational Gathering 2006. This Plan belongs to all of us: our challenge is to make it happen. We allow the vision and values of the Plan to influence our work in ways that are appropriate to our own particular situation in the South West Province.

In response to changing times our ministries in the province have broadened to best serve the needs of each new generation with the same enthusiasm, commitment and care as Nano and her followers showed over 200 years ago. These ministries are supported by the less active in our houses and also by many of our lay colleagues.

Care and Support:

Providing support for ministry through leadership and administrative offices.
Many sisters who have retired continue to work on a voluntary basis with local community organisations and bring their wisdom and skills to these roles. A vital source of support and inspiration for ministry is the prayer, interest and encouragement of individual sisters and communities around the Province.

Commissions:

Several sisters work on various Commissions in the Province - Life and Mission, Justice, Spirituality, Finance & Property, Healthcare, Associates, Women & the Church, Golden Years.
