The long awaited and rescheduled ‘UN Conference on the World Financial and Economic Crisis and its impact on Development’ took place from 24-26 June 2009 in the UN Headquarters, New York.

On 22 May 2009, ninety-year old Sr. Eucharia Buckley, from was conferred with the Freedom of the City of Cork - a true honour.

A new Nano Nagle Block was inaugurated at the Theni Community in India in honour of the JUbilee Year.
