Jubilee Celebrations at South Presentation

A special Jubilee Mass in honour of Nano Nagle has been organised by the South Presentation Convent in Cork. Led by Sr. Patricia O' Shea, an energetic team of Sisters, Associates and Friends of Nano are busy putting the final preparations in place.

The Mass will be held at 3 p.m. at St. Finbar's South Parish on Dunbar Street, Cork. The Lord Mayor, many other dignitaries, Sisters, Associates, Friends of Nano, students and past students of Presentation schools will attend. The chief celebrant will be Bishop Buckley.

After the Mass there will be a procession back to Nano's graveside in the convent gardens and refreshments will be provided.

Media Celebrate Nano Nagle Jubilee

The media have shown a keen interest in the Nano Nagle Jubilee. RTE broadcast a Mass from Kilavullen on Palm Sunday. In addition the Irish Examiner carried an article on the opening of the Heritage Room at the Nano Nagle Centre in their editrion of 24 April 2009. And the Irish Times and Irish Independent will publish contributions also.

New School Building for Scoil Chriost Ri, Portlaoi

Work has finally begun on a new school building for Scoil Chriost Ri, Portlaoise. The sod was turned by An Taoiseach for the first group of four PPP schools for 2009 of which Scoil Chriost Ri is one.
