Fairtrade Fortnight is held each year to heighten awareness of fairtrade issues and to deepen commitment towards achieving fairtrade in the world today. This year it runs from 23 Feb to 8 March 2009.

Last Summer the Sisters in Jhelum Community began to make preparations for the fitting celebration of the Jubilee Year of Nano’s death. One idea which they pursued was the establishment of a class for school dropouts.

Thirty seven early school leavers - boys and girls aged 13 to 16 years - are part of Presentation Ireland’s new online learning initiative. A further 24 young people had to be turned away mainly due to lack of broadband coverage.

In October 2008, 220 delegates from all over the world, met at the second Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD) in Manila. Their purpose was to consider the rights and protections of migrants and the expansion of legal avenues for migration.

The Sisters in Pakistan are celebrating the 225th anniversary in a number of ways.
