Horizon Group 2008

Twelve Presentation Sisters from across the world have just begun a program of renewal. Called Horizon, the four-month programme begins in Ireland and ends in India with an immersion module in between.

Goan Women up in arms against mining lobby

Hundreds of Christian tribal women joined others to present their case against the mining lobby at a Public Hearing in Panjim, Goa in early August. The hearing was to ascertain if the Soleracho Dongor Iron Mining company had encroached into traditonal tribal forests.

The British Government engaged with those involved in the provision of faith-based schools in England. Together they developed the document Faith in the System which was published in August 2007. The document is interesting in light of the debate that is now beginning about the role of faith schools in a more diverse Irish society. Scoil Chriost Ri, Portlaoise hopes to move in twelve months to a new PPP school on a green-field site in Portlaoise. But it will bring two stained-glass windows from the Convent to the Oratory in the new school.
