Bakhita Women's Dam (Kalomo)

In Kalomo in the Southern Province of Zambia a women’s group was formed by the local Presentation Sisters. Having started as a knitting club, this group has developed a small farm which is fed by a dam built by the women themselves.

They had to overcome many obstacles for the dam to become a reality but with faith, patience, perseverance and the help of many good people who visited Kalomo or heard of their struggle, the women finally succeeded and, on 23 May 2008, the dam was opened.

Messages to Numba.
